The worshipful master’s corner:
As we head into October, I want to take a minute to say thank you to everyone for the time and effort you have continued to put into our Lodge this year. Our Official Visit on September 4th was a great success, and I was very proud of how well we represented our Lodge. It was a great evening of fellowship, and it showed what we can accomplish when everyone comes together. I truly appreciate all the hard work and dedication each of you has given throughout the year.
I also want to give a big congratulations to Brother Harrison Moulton on obtaining his Proficiency Card! That is a great accomplishment and something he should be proud of. It takes time, effort, and commitment to reach that point, and I want to congratulate Brother Harrison on a job well done.
We are getting closer to the end of the year, but there is still plenty of time to enjoy our Lodge and spend time with our Brothers. I encourage everyone to stay involved, come out when you can, and continue supporting one another. Some of the best parts of Masonry happen simply by being together, sharing a meal, lending a hand, or having a good conversation with a Brother.
Brethren, thank you again for everything you have contributed this year. Whether your efforts have been seen by many or quietly made behind the scenes, they have helped make our Lodge stronger. I am proud of what we have accomplished together and look forward to finishing the year with the same unity, enthusiasm, and dedication that have brought us this far. I hope to see each of you throughout the month of October.
Fraternally,
Kevin Herring, WM
From the Secretary’s Desk:
An official visit to be proud of! Great attendance and participation, meal and fellowship; earning us a score of 91.77! Thanks to all for your work leading up to that!
We’ve got some things coming up to take note of: the annual Drakes Creek Trick or Treat on Oct. 30th; candy donations are needed (usually over 3000 kids coming through!), so please drop those by the lodge (a box on the table); if you can’t make that but would like to help out, contact me and you can Venmo a special donation (mark Lodge Halloween candy) for us to purchase what we need. Join our DeMolay for their Chili/soup supper on Nov 8 (see info at bottom of page). And our Lodge Thanksgiving dinner will be on Nov. 15th (details/times tba). With all of that, you’d think we might know how to eat?
And it’s also the beginning of “that time of year!” Yep, time for me to say: PAY YOUR DUES FOR 2027! All are due on OR BEFORE December 31, 2026. Same price, $161.00; and those that are 50+ members, not required to pay dues, we’d still be honored to receive your donations! FYI, Of our 126 members, 33 are over 50 years, so that makes our paying members under 100, with a total around $14000.00 per year to operate the lodge (and pay any unexpected/emergency expenses), which is really cutting it close. You may attach additional donations to your checks and payments, just let me know if there is a specific area to target or if it’s general budget needs.
Thanks for all that you do for Hendersonville #359!
Jeff Phillips, Secretary/Past Master
