The worshipful master’s corner:
Greetings Brethren!
As we enter the month of February, I want to extend my sincere thanks to each of you for your continued dedication to our Lodge. Our most recent stated meeting required us to gather in the dining hall due to necessary repairs in the main Lodge room. I greatly appreciate the patience and flexibility shown by every Brother, which allowed our work to continue in harmony. It is moments like these that remind me of the strength and adaptability of our Fraternity.
I would like to offer special thanks to Brother Bill Woodward for the time and skill he devoted to repairing the Lodge floor. I also extend my gratitude to Brother James and Brother Jason Gerock for their efforts and hard work in the renovation of the Secretary’s office. Their willingness to give of their time exemplifies true Masonic labor. Because of Brothers like these, our Lodge continues to improve both in form and function.
During our last meeting, I shared a reading from scripture, 1 John 1:5–7, which reminds us that walking in the light brings fellowship and truth. This passage closely reflects our Masonic obligation to live uprightly and to support one another as Brothers. I also ask that you keep Brother Andy Baldwin and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they recover from the devastating house fire they recently endured. Any donations or assistance, of any kind, are deeply appreciated as we come together to support a Brother in need.
Fraternally yours,
Kevin Herring
From the Secretary’s Desk:
I must start with another reminder (yes, mentioned in every Trestleboard since October, a separate reminder card mailed AND overdue notice #1 mailed last week), but…dues were due December 31, 2025! If you don’t have a 2026 dues card you may not sit in a “blue lodge” meeting anywhere; in addition you may not participate in any appendant bodies (AASR, York Rite, Shrine, Grotto, OES, or boards of DeMolay or Rainbow). It is your responsibility to take care of this in a timely manner. Please do so in order to avoid embarrassing situations AND to help support our Lodge! When it comes time for our per capita we owe the Grand Lodge based on our membership roster; also our numbers of proficiency cards are based on this number. If we have names on our roster that have not paid, it literally costs us.
A reminder also of our 2nd annual “Jolly Good Festive Board”. You can find more information at the end of the Electronic Trestleboard and also on our new website: (hendersonvillelodge359.com)! RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BEFORE FEBRUARY 13TH!
We want to keep our brethren and their families in our prayers. Brother Dwight Sesler (plural member at our lodge and Goodlettsville) and also Brother Billy Lamberth (Goodlettsville, and a frequent visitor and friend), and Brother David Blankenship (one of our 50+ year members) all have joined the Celestial Lodge just this year. While a sad start to the new year, it is heartwarming to see the brothers from many different lodges come and support families and one another as we pay tribute to the memory of our brothers who have given so much. The Masonic Funeral Rites are one of our rituals that are open to the public and every time I conduct one or attend one, I am inspired by the words. In addition almost every time, someone from the family or friends attending will say how much this meant and how they didn’t understand who Masons really were until this service.
Please check the calendar listed and look ahead to dates we already have for March and April! There are many things going on in addition to lots of opportunities to travel in our district and region. Take some time and enjoy the Brotherhood!
Finally, there is a LOT of construction and renovation happening at our Lodge both on the outside and on the inside! We’re still open for business and for a bit longer we just have to work around it, knowing how great it will all be very soon! Thanks to all who pitch in and help with everything we have going on!
Your humble Secretary/PM, Jeff Phillips
